The Patchogue Arts Council and Plaza MAC is proud to present a special screening of the documentary MONTEREY POP with special guests, Norm Prusslin, Director of the Media Arts Minor/Media Arts Academy at Stony Brook University and David Bennett Cohen of Country Joe and the Fish.
The film documents the Monterey Pop Festival of 1967, a three-day concert event that was held in June at the Monterey County Fairgrounds in Monterey, California. The documentary features lives performances from many prominent musical acts of the late 1960s including The Mama & the Papas, Simon & Garfunkel, Jefferson Airplane, The Who, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, and more.
The screening of the documentary is part of the Patchogue Arts Council’s Summer of Love Festival 1967 - 2017, a season-long event celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love. For a complete list of Summer of Love events, visit www.patchoguearts.org.
